I recently purchased an "L" body Steinberger that has a bolt on composite neck with a truss rod and wood body. Can anybody tell me anything about this guitar, (model, manufacture date, value)?

Looks(?) like an early Spirt XT. The first series supposed to have composite necks, later on it was replaced by wood (I have never seen one though).

it actually sounds like you're describing a music yo GLB. GLBs were pretty short-lived, made around 2002-2005 (i could be wrong on this - going from foggy memory). they had bolt-on graphite neck with truss rod. the early spirits were neck thru (but they had a phenolic fingerboard)  and i KNOW the L series are one piece. here's a pic of a GLB with transtrem:

been a long time since i've seen one of these on ebay and depending on the condition (and whether it's an S trem or a T trem), could be worth 1k or even higher.

As he mentioned "L body", I assumed it was a bass, but I could be wrong. :D

My guitar appears to be a GLB, it is identical to the one pictured in Chris's post with the exception of the bridge. Mine has an S-Trem. Thanks for your help.

The quality of my GLB appears very good. Fit and finish are great and the guitar plays very well.

K, I've located the approx. date , and place of origin. I have a GM4T that has a N14312 Serial number.

I've had this guitar for about 8 years, encouraged by my younger brother to purchase it. I've always had gibsons, and fenders for the most part.I've never been disapointed for the purchase.
