I have played the Steinberger SS2F on severial occasions and in all the different colors. A++ on the overal design, color scheme and action.  However for a few more dollars one could purchase the ST-2FPA with its transcale capability.

A+++ on its toneality and active electronics.  Great sound capeability and a great design make this a highly recomended guitar, however when it is compared directly against other guitars in it's price range its a b+.

Definatly take a good look at the ST-2FPA Transcale guitar before you buy the SS2F, but if you feel like the transcale is not for you and your looking for the matchless Steinberger design I recomend the SS2F.

I don't understand how it can be A+++ on tonality, electronics and sound capability, and great design, and still be a b+ when compared to other guitars in the price range. Which guitars are you talking about and why are they better? :)

haha, sure.  I guess that I have been spoiled by the ST-2FPA!  When I wrote this review I just couldnt figure out why somone would not spend the extra 100 or so and get the built in capo!

However, now that I have played the ZT3 I'm afraid that my opinion is "why not spend an extra 500 and get a really, really, REALLY amazing guitar?

So thats all, The SS2f is a really cool guitar, but I love the built in capo on the upgrade model!

Got ya - the SS2F is a sweet guitar, no question about it!  The St-2FPA is the same guitar with a built in capo added.

Both great pieces :)
