Steinberger

Played in bands back in the early 90's. Got this little jewel at Wash. Music Center in DC.

My favorite personal Steinberger story: Coming back to the US from a European tour sortly after the PanAm Flight 103 tragedy, I'm waiting in line at Heathrow security. Hundreds of folks all being screened by a high tech scanner and a single operator who then had half a dozen security officers to check anything he'd flag.

Here I am with a guitar in a bag that looks like Winchester Rifles made it. Sure enough I'm flagged, so I wait for a security officer... No. The guy running the scanner comes over and asks me to open the case. I'm stumbling over my words as I explain it's a bass guitar.

He picks it up, plays a couple of riffs and the says "Yeah, I know. I was at a Genesis concert last weekend when I saw one for the first time. Always wanted to play one... Thanks very much. You can go now."
